The Department
of Anesthesiology functions in the
state-of-the-art operation theatre
complex & is headed by Dr.M.Jagannath.
Each theatre is equipped with modern
facilities for anesthesia and monitoring
and include:
Anaesthesia machines with circle absorber
Anaesthesia ventilators - adult and pediatric
Monitors for ECG, BP (non-invasive and invasive), pulse oximetry, capnography and temperature recording
Peripheral nerve stimulator for neuromuscular monitoring done during and after surgery
Central supply of oxygen and anesthetic gases, and central suction
Since MERF has a robust pediatric
ENT surgery unit, various operative
procedures are performed including
Cochlear Implant surgery and Laryngotracheal
surgery. The anesthesia dept. is fully
geared with all state-of-the-art equipments
for safe conduct of these challenging
procedures. A number of laser surgeries
are also done and the theatre is well
equipped with all the necessary accessories.
The anesthesiologists have been specially
trained for anesthesia in Laser surgery.
