A
forerunner of its kind in India where habilitation/rehabilitation
of children with cochlear implant is done
with the aim to teach the hearing challenged
child to hear, listen and then speak. Specially
trained teachers train the implantees and
co-ordinate between the clinic, parents
and the schools. Mr.Chandan Saha heads a
team of nine habilitationists who run a
full-time service for auditory verbal habilitation.
