Pulmonary
Function Test is a noninvasive investigation
done with an equipment called Spirometer.
This test evaluates
the efficiency of the lung. Lung volumes
and capacities are measured. It may be necessary
as part of pre-anesthetic evaluation prior
to undergoing surgery under general anesthesia.
It is also useful to diagnose lung disease
and monitor the response to treatment.
